AfCFTA to lift 30m Nigerians, Africans out of poverty by 2035 — Moghalu

Professor Kingsley Moghalu, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Advisory Board at the Africa Private Sector Summit, stated that the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) would lift 30 million Africans, including Nigerians, out of poverty by 2035.

He highlighted the importance of the private sector in achieving AfCFTA’s targets and emphasized the need for the Private Sector Bill of Rights (PSBoR) to complement the AfCFTA treaty.

Moghalu believes the PSBoR, when adopted alongside AfCFTA and Regional Economic Communities, will contribute to economic growth, poverty reduction, and positioning Africa as a thriving business hub.
