… rebuffs rumours of desperation over NEC meeting

The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party-PDP, His Excellency, Ambassador Umar Damagun today received the PDP State Chairmen across the 36 States of Nigeria, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The Acting National Chairman, in the company of other members of the National Working Committee (NWC) used the occasion to shed more light on the importance of the meeting. According to him, the meeting will avail the NWC and state executives the opportunity to interact, and finetune the processes of making the forthcoming zonal congress a hitchfree exercise.

Equally, the Acting National Chairman dispelled the rumours about him planning to encamp the state executives in order to induce them for the scheduled National Executive Committee (NEC) to favour him, as being carried by the agents of disunity.

Again, he said the whole essence of the meeting will be to discuss the zonal congress which the nomination forms are already on sale. Then get to know the levels of preparation across the states. And further finetune other modalities to ensure a hitchfree zonal congress.

And also, that what pertains to the NEC meeting is for NWC and the Chairman to decide. He welcome all the State Chairmen immensely, and specially acknowledged the presence of the brand new ones.
