ADELEKE’S EXIT FROM PDP: A BOLD MOVE FOR A STRONGER, MORE SECURE MANDATE – OSUN GRASSROOT MOVEMENT

The Osun Grassroot Movement (OGM) applauds the Governor of Osun State, His Excellency Senator Nurudeen Ademola Jackson Adeleke, for his courageous and visionary decision to resign from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This step reflects uncommon foresight, a deep sense of responsibility, and an unwavering commitment to the peace, stability, and collective aspirations of Osun citizens.

At a time when the PDP is entangled in internal conflicts, leadership tussles, and potential legal pitfalls that threaten the political future of many, Governor Adeleke has chosen clarity over confusion, stability over crisis, and integrity over needless political risks. His exit is a strategic move that shields the mandate freely given to him by the good people of Osun from legal ambiguities, including the danger of double nomination and other emerging complications.

For months, the people of Osun have voiced their worries over the escalating PDP crisis, urging Mr. Governor to make a decisive move to protect the state’s political direction. Today, he has taken that step—firmly in line with the expectations of the masses and in defence of the progress achieved under his leadership.

This timely decision has effectively silenced those planning a “Zamfara-style” political ambush or any form of mandate sabotage. Governor Adeleke’s withdrawal from the PDP reinforces his commitment to good governance, continuity, and the uninterrupted development of Osun State.

The Osun Grassroot Movement looks forward with optimism to Mr. Governor’s next political alignment. As a leader widely loved across the state and in the diaspora, we are confident that the people will stand solidly behind him, regardless of the platform he chooses for the forthcoming election.
