THE UNIMAGINABLE LIES OF YOUWICAN:THE NEED TO SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT.

We, the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) Osun State Area Unit, read the communique of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOUWICAN) that was released on the 2nd of November 2025, wherein it made a frivolous, baseless, unsubstantiated, unguarded and shallow claim that the Muslims have largely occupied the Governorship seat of Osun State since the beginning of this fourth Republic. This is a clear case of the oppressor acting as a victim. Yoruba says “aitete mu ole, ole n mu oloko” meaning that failure to apprehend the thief on time, the thief accuses the owner of the robbery. This action of the Youth who want to be counted as the leaders of tomorrow is a very dangerous and despicable one. The blatant lie of YOUWICAN is not expected of it, if not for to be seen as worthy leaders of tomorrow but for the sake of the faith it claimed to represent. This type of lie from it calls for a rethink as to who should be entrusted with the leadership of our society.

Yoruba says “eniti yoo je ogun ki ogun, yoo pa itan Kitan” meaning that he that wants to inherit wrongly will tell a fake story.
For the sake of the protection of the truth and the State at large, we hereby provide free education, tutoring and lessons to YOUWICAN.
From 1999 to 2003, Osun State was led by Chief Bisi Akande (Muslim). His deputy was Otunba Iyiola Omisore (Christian).

Between 2003 and 2010, the Governor of Osun State was Rtd. Gen. Olagunsoye Oyinlola (Christian) and his deputy was Mrs. Erelu Obada (also a Christian).

Engr. Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola (Muslim) and Mrs. Titilaoye Tomori (Christian) were the Governor and Deputy Governor respectively between 2010 and 2018.

They were followed by Governor Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola (Muslim) and his deputy, Mr. Benedict Gboyega Alabi (Christian), from 2018 to 2022.

The current Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke and his deputy are another Christian/Christian ruling our dear State as Governor and deputy. To make it worse, out of the 26 State Assembly members just 3 of them are Muslims while the remaining 23 are Christians. Let us add for comparison that during Governor Oyetola’s regime, the Muslim members of the State House of Assembly were just 7 out of the 26 members while the Christian members were 19. The Muslims have always been mature in the handling of the State affairs including its politics to ensure peaceful society. Surprisingly, the ones that have been enjoying the Government have also been fond of making unfounded allegations.

From the foregoing, it is crystal clear that it is only the time that Muslims have led as governor that they have been conscious of the religious composition of the State.

To further educate YOUWICAN and its sponsors, if any, the previous Military Administrators before the fourth Republic were all Christians and the Muslims have never complained. For it to confirm, the list includes Brigadier General Leo Segun Ajiborisha (August 1991 – January 1992), Navy Captain
Anthony Udofia (1993 – 1996), Lieutenant Colonel
Anthony Obi (1996 – 1998) and Colonel
Theophilus Bamigboye
(1998 – 1999). Muslims have never thought of it before now but the recent careless lie of YOUWICAN might have ignited the Muslims’ consciousness.

It is very expedient to make this clarification because it is the same way that its parent body, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), has been peddling lies with hatred of Islam and the Muslims and had misinformed the world about the reality of Nigeria’s insecurity. The lies that are preparing ground for the external attack of our motherland as being planned by President Donald Trump.
We hereby advise YOUWICAN to be wary of its comments, socially, politically and economically especially when it fails to research or seek knowledge on matters of State affairs. It is also very important that both CAN and YOUWICAN start to thread the path of truth always in all affairs. This is the only way that they can be taken seriously in any matter.
