PDP National Legal Adviser, Ajibade, Gives Legal Opinion on Dec 20, 2024 Appeal Court Ruling-
…Adopts Tanimu Turaki’s Report.
…Backs Udeh Okoye as National Secretary of PDP.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Adeyemi Ajibade, SAN, has officially issued a legal opinion on the December 20, 2024, Appeal Court ruling, adopting the Tanimu Turaki Report and affirming Hon SKE Udeh Okoye as the National Secretary of the PDP.
In his opinion that has been submitted this morning to the office of the Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Iliya Damagum, Ajibade stated that the Appeal Court’s decision is binding on all parties involved and that Udeh Okoye is the rightful occupant of the National Secretary position in the PDP.
The adoption of the Tanimu Turaki Report further solidifies Udeh Okoye’s position, as the report’s findings align with the Appeal Court’s ruling.
The PDP National Working Committee (NWC) has been directed by the Board of Trustees (BoT), to take necessary steps to implement the Appeal Court’s decision and the Tanimu Turaki Report.
This opinion from the PDP National Legal Adviser, who is the officer in charge of all legal matters; and the only person responsible to advise the Party on legal issues, has brought to an end the lingering uncertainty regarding the decision of the December 20, 2024 Appeal Court Ruling.
Therefore, in the eyes of the law, Hon SKE Udeh Okoye is the only legally qualified person to occupy the office of National Secretary of the PDP. Any document (s) signed by the ousted National Secretary, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu remains null, void and of no effect.
