Open Letter: Aiyedire Youths Decry Neglect and Exclusion from Osun Government Opportunities – calls for *Hon Adesoye Oyetunde’s* activeness

Our Leaders’ Silence Is Costing Us Representation

We, the concerned youths and media professionals of Aiyedire Local Government Area, wish to express our growing frustration over the continued exclusion of our people from major appointments, empowerment schemes, trainings, and government-related media engagements in Osun State.

Despite our unwavering loyalty and active participation in the success of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at all levels, Aiyedire has remained largely unrepresented and sidelined, especially in recent initiatives such as the media training facilitated by Hon. Bamidele Salam and other strategic state programs championed by the Office of the Governor’s Spokesperson, Malam Olawale Rasheed.

It is regrettable that our supposed leaders, especially *Hon. Adesoye Oyetunde*, who currently represents Aiyedire’s political interests, have failed to protect or advance the aspirations of our youths. Under his watch, Aiyedire continues to be treated as an afterthought in state matters, particularly in media, political appointments, and youth engagement opportunities.

The negligence and silence of our leaders have emboldened those who deliberately exclude Aiyedire from the table of progress. This pattern of nonchalance and weak advocacy is fast eroding our relevance in state politics and denying our people the dividends of democracy we wholeheartedly worked for.

Aiyedire is blessed with talented, educated, and vibrant youths—especially in the media sector—who have demonstrated loyalty and competence. It is therefore both unfair and counterproductive for our LGA to continually be ignored while others reap the benefits of collective efforts.

We call on:

Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, the people’s governor,

Hon. Kayode Mudasiru Lukman, Rep, Ayedire, Iwọ, Ola-Oluwa Federal Constituency,

Sen Akogun Lere Oyewumi

Senator Representing Osun West Senatorial District

Malam Olawale Rasheed, spokesperson to the Governor,

to urgently address this imbalance and ensure Aiyedire’s fair inclusion in future programs, appointments, and opportunities.

Our appeal is not one of entitlement but of equity and recognition. A government of the people must reflect fairness to every local government, no matter how small or politically distant.

Until our leaders rise to defend the interests of Aiyedire, our voices will continue to demand fairness, accountability, and inclusivity.
