SUPREME COURT UPDATE: OSUN LG

Supreme Court begins sitting on the Osun LG matter. The first matter called for hearing was the suit filed by the Osun AG vs AGF filed earlier in April 2025 but was later withdrawn. The AGF counsel objected to the withdrawal but the Supreme Court justices rejected his argument, pointing out that they put nothing before the court to show their disapproval of the withdrawal.

The Supreme Court justices tongue-lashed the AGF Council, Akin Olujimi, SAN, over perceived moves to stall the court.

“Several of us intervened, you don’t seem to reason with us, Objection by Mr. Olujinmi is baseless and without substance. It is overruled” ruled the Supreme Court.

The next suit to be called is the main suit, also between Osun AG vs AGF filed in August 2025 challenging the AGF authority to approve payment of Osun local government allocation for the court-sacked Yes/No Chairmen despite several court rulings against such a move.
