To the Executive Governor of Kano State

We, the Hausawa of Nigeria, are formally requesting that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, recognize and separate the Hausa and Fulani communities in all federal matters. For years, the identity and interests of Hausawa have been merged with those of the Fulani, resulting in significant disadvantages in education, employment, and political representation.

In light of this request, we declare our support for President Tinubu’s second-term bid, provided that our demand for clear administrative and social recognition of Hausawa as distinct from Fulani is honored. Our unified vote across Hausawa communities will reflect our commitment to this cause and our belief in fair representation.

We request that all federal activities, including employment processes, NECO and WAEC examinations, vocational certifications like MBais and NABTEC, and higher institutions of learning, adopt policies that distinctly separate Hausa and Fulani candidates in selection, promotion, and appointments. A formal circular should be issued to enforce this separation nationwide.

Census activities in the Northwestern states should accurately determine the populations of Hausa and Fulani communities. This information is critical for proper representation, allocation of resources, and recognition of Hausawa as a distinct group within Nigeria’s administrative framework.

We further request that the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and the electoral authorities ensure that all Hausawa are clearly identified on identity and voters’ cards, with the word “Hausa” boldly written. This will preserve our identity and prevent misclassification in political, educational, and employment systems.

Our demand is not intended to create division but to ensure fairness, equity, and protection of Hausawa rights in all aspects of national life. Recognizing our distinct identity will strengthen Nigeria’s commitment to justice and serve as a model for other communities facing similar challenges.

Separation of Hausa and Fulani in federal activities will help reduce historical grievances and ensure that appointments, promotions, and selections are based on merit within the correct ethnic context. Clear guidelines will improve transparency and reduce tensions in public institutions.

Support for President Tinubu’s second term is conditional on the fulfillment of this request. By recognizing Hausawa as a distinct group, the President will demonstrate his dedication to fairness, inclusion, and respect for our cultural and political identity.

We urge the Federal Government to treat this request with urgency and sincerity. Implementation will mark a historic step for Hausawa, ensuring that our contributions, population, and rights are properly recognized and protected in all federal matters.

In conclusion, we pledge our full support for President Tinubu’s leadership, on the understanding that Hausawa-Fulani separation in federalt activities, official records, and administrative processes is formally granted. We are prepared to mobilize, vote, and publicly champion his second-term bid in recognition of his commitment to addressing this long-standing concern.
