Coalition of Osun Progressive Youths Raises Concern Over Oyebamiji Bola’s Lack of Transparency

The Coalition of Osun Progressive Youths (COPY) expresses deep concern over the recent conduct of Mr. Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, a 2026 governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

It is unfortunate that after several public calls and press statements demanding transparency, Mr. Oyebamiji and his media handlers only hurriedly released an epistle claiming he has resigned from the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA). We find it troubling that someone aspiring to lead a state as sophisticated as Osun would struggle with something as basic as openly presenting his letter of resignation.

For the avoidance of doubt, the people of Osun deserve honesty, clarity, and accountability from anyone seeking to govern them. A transparent leader does not hide a simple resignation letter. The persistent delay, followed by a sudden release only after mounting public pressure, raises questions about sincerity and readiness for responsible governance.

Even more disturbing is the circulation of images from his assumption of office at NIWA, now being falsely presented by his team as images from his official handover. This act is deceptive, unethical, and disrespectful to the intelligence of Osun citizens. Leaders emerge through trust, not manipulation.

We therefore call on Mr. Bola Oyebamiji to immediately publish the authentic and verifiable resignation letter, duly signed and acknowledged by the appropriate authorities. Osun people need to be sure that anyone asking for their mandate is forthcoming and genuinely prepared to uphold the values of transparency and accountability.
