NSCDC Agents Rescued Twenty Four Victims From A Lagos Camp

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Lagos State Command have uncovered an illegal detention camp in the Itoga area of Badagry, rescuing 24 victims and arresting four suspects linked to a cross-border criminal syndicate.

The Raid: Triggered by credible intelligence and community engagement targeting criminal hideouts.
The Victims: 18 males and 6 females, including a toddler, originating from Nigeria and neighboring countries.Duration: Some victims had been confined in the camp for periods ranging from three months to three years.
The Suspects: Four foreign nationals from Togo, Benin Republic, and Ghana were taken into custody.
Syndicate Modus Operandi According to the Lagos State Commandant, Adedotun Keshinro, the network used extortion and cyber fraud to exploit the victims:
Forced Distress Calls: Suspects forced victims to call their families to fabricate stories and demand ransoms.Criminal Coercion: Captives were forcefully coerced into internet fraud and drug-related offenses. The NSCDC confirmed that investigations are actively ongoing to trace other collaborators, after which the suspects will face prosecution.
