ATIKU2027: BREAKING: President Bola Tinubu, Nyesom Wike, Remain Silent, “Run Into Hiding”, As Atiku Abubakar Fires Serious Final Warning To Anyone, No Matter How High, Attempting To Undermine Nigeria’s Hard-Won Democracy Through Judicial Manipulation, Ahead Of The 2027 Elections

His Excellency, former Vice President and 2027 Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to the Tuesday, Court of Appeal historic decision to halt the execution of a suspicious Federal High Court judgement that sought the deregistration of the ADC and four other political parties, from the official records of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Monday, describing the ruling as a crucial victory for democracy in Nigeria.

In a strongly worded statement posted on his X handle, on Tuesday, Atiku welcomed the Appellate Court’s intervention, and noted that it was particularly significant that the Independent National Electoral Commission initiated the application for a stay of execution, itself.

His exact words: “I welcome the Court of Appeal’s decision to stay the execution of the Federal High Court judgment seeking the deregistration of our great party, the ADC, and four other political parties. It is particularly significant that INEC itself initiated the application for the stay.

The Court of Appeal’s ruling came barely 24-hours after a Federal High Court judgement sparked nationwide controversy, by ordering for the deregistration of the ADC; a development that threatened the platform recently adopted by top opposition Leaders in the country, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking further, Atiku used the opportunity to raise fresh concerns about what he described as growing public distrust in the Judiciary, warning that, conflicting Court decisions and politically sensitive judgements are putting the nation’s democratic Institutions under severe strain.

“The disturbing spectacle of judicial contradictions and politically charged rulings playing out in our Courts, have placed the Judiciary under intense public scrutiny”, he stated.

Echoing the remarks earlier made by the ADC National Chairman, Senator David Mark, the former Vice President declared that Nigeria’s Judiciary is now facing a defining moment.

“As ADC National Chairman, Sen. David Mark, rightly observed, the Judiciary itself is now on trial”, Atiku noted.

The main opposition Leader in the country, also cautioned against any attempt to weaken democratic Institutions, through what he termed judicial manipulation, arguing that, such actions pose a direct threat to Nigeria’s constitutional order.

“Any attempt to undermine Nigeria’s hard-won democracy through judicial manipulation, is a grave danger to the Republic”, he warned.

In one of the most striking parts of his statement, Atiku suggested that history would hold Judicial Officers accountable, if democracy is further endangered in Nigeria.

He stated: “If our democracy suffers further injury, history will demand accountability from those entrusted with dispensing justice.

“The Judiciary still has an opportunity to redeem itself, by standing firmly on the side of the Constitution, the rule of law and the Nigerian people.”
