‘Your Types are Rare,’ Gov. Adeleke Extols Kabiru
At a maiden meeting between the executive governor of Osun State, Governor Ademola Adeleke, and the caretaker chairmen recently inaugurated, the governor spotlighted the loyalty of Hon. Moshood Kabiru Adekunle of Iwo Local Government.
Governor Adeleke commended the caretaker chairman of Iwo Local Government for subsuming his personal interest to the larger interest of the Peoples Democratic Party as he demonstrated recently.
It is on record that Hon. Kabiru, popularly called Irorun, had secured the party ticket as the PDP House of Assembly candidate through an overwhelmingly victory at the primary election.
He was already drumming for public support at the poll when an exigency came from the party leadership and key stakeholders in Iwo community with the intervention of the governor for him to relinquish the ticket to Hon. Gafar Atanda, another competent politician.
He had to make the decision to let go of the ticket in the overriding interest of the party he believes so much in, and committed to ensure its victory at the poll without any crack.
At the meeting held in the governor’s office at Abere on Friday, the governor appreciated Hon. Kabiru’s conduct, adding that he had since then penned his name down for another opportunity.
“I had since then noted his decision and written it down that he would be offered an appointment someday. Candidly, he has my support not only as caretaker chairman but to be our candidate in the future local government election,” the governor said to the audience of all the caretaker chairmen and party leaders yesterday.
The audience welcomed the governor’s commendation with an applause.
The elated chairman thanked the governor for his support and recognition. He also commended the governor for his strategic implementation of his campaign promises to the electorate, which has strengthened the people’s confidence in the PDP-led government that the party is the only capable choice that could reposition the state for growth and prosperity.
He assured the governor that he would work tirelessly to ensure the realisation of the governor’s development agenda at the local level.
