Domestic Violence: 340 husbands beaten by their wives in one year – Lagos govt
The Lagos State Government has revealed that 340 husbands reported incidents of domestic violence by their wives between September 2022 and July 2023, expressing concern and stating that the agency is working on resolving these cases.
Simultaneously, the government has initiated monitoring and assessment activities through the Joint Task Force to ensure the implementation of the Executive Order on Safeguarding and Child Protection in schools across the Six Education Districts.
The monitoring exercise, which began on October 31, 2023, aims to evaluate compliance with the policy and identify areas for improvement.
Representatives from various government agencies emphasized the importance of safety measures in schools to create a secure learning environment.
The Executive Order, ratified in December 2016, mandates child-centered institutions to adopt the Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy to ensure the rights of children are safeguarded.
