PRESS RELEASE
Osogbo – October 14, 2025
Prominent APC Chieftain, Hon. Kayode Olubi Dumps APC for PDP.
… Vows to Support Governor Adeleke’s Re-election.
In a significant political development in Osun State, Hon. Kayode Olubi, a notable chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has officially announced his defection to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), citing the remarkable performance of the state’s Executive Governor, His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, and the absence of vision and cohesion within the APC as the major reasons for his decision.
Hon. Olubi described Governor Adeleke’s administration as a model of responsive, people-centered governance that has brought renewed hope and tangible development across Osun State. According to him, the achievements of the Adeleke-led government in infrastructure, education, workers’ welfare, youth empowerment, and overall service delivery remain unmatched in recent political history.
He declared his readiness to work tirelessly for the success of the PDP at all levels, pledging full support and mobilization efforts towards the 2026 governorship re-election of Governor Adeleke, and the victory of all PDP candidates in subsequent elections.
Hon. Olubi noted that the APC in Osun has lost its ideological base, direction, and connection with the people, hence his decision to pitch his tent with the progressive leadership of the PDP, a party he described as “the true hope of Osun and Nigeria.”
His defection has been widely welcomed by party leaders and supporters, particularly, the Secretary to the State Government, High Chief Teslim Igbalaye, Bobagunwa of Osogboland.
