Nearly Ten SDP party Support Groups Signal Move to ADC in Katsina State

Katsina, Nigeria – November 22, 2025 –

Close to ten Social Democratic Party (SDP) support groups in Katsina State have formally indicated their interest in joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC), marking a significant boost to the party’s grassroots strength in Katsina State.

The announcement was made during a meeting held today at the residence of Ambassador Yakubu Mamman Rumah, Coordinator of the Katsina State Pioneer Canvassers Support Group. The meeting brought together chairmen and representatives of the various groups, who expressed their readiness to decamp to the ADC and contribute to its growing momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ambassador Rumah welcomed the groups, emphasizing that their decision reflects the increasing confidence in the ADC’s vision of discipline, integrity, and competence. He noted that the party is steadily positioning itself as the credible alternative Nigerians are seeking.

“This movement is a clear sign that the ADC is resonating with the people. We are building a coalition of committed Nigerians who want to see an end to insecurity, poverty, and poor governance,” Rumah stated.

The groups pledged to mobilize their members and communities in support of the ADC, aligning with the party’s grassroots recruitment strategy. Their decision adds to the growing wave of defections and endorsements that have strengthened the ADC’s presence across Nigeria.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is a political party in Nigeria committed to promoting integrity, competence, and grassroots participation in governance. The party seeks to provide a credible alternative to existing political structures and deliver sustainable solutions to Nigeria’s challenges.
