“I Will Not Support the President in 2027”: Governor Seyi Makinde Rejects Wike’s Plan to “Hold PDP” for Tinubu

IBADAN, OYO STATE

His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, has made a startling revelation regarding a private meeting involving President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, signaling a definitive break in the “G5” alliance ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during a media chat with journalist today, Governor Makinde recounted a closed-door session where the political future of the PDP was discussed in the presence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to Governor Makinde, he was present when Minister Nyesom Wike volunteered to maintain control over the PDP structure specifically to ensure it does not pose a threat to President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

“I was in a meeting with President Tinubu, Nyesom Wike, and others when Wike volunteered to hold the PDP for Tinubu against 2027, and I was in shock,” Governor Makinde revealed to the stunned audience. It became clear that there is a deliberate attempt to hollow out the opposition from within.

“Nyesom Wike has the right to support the President in 2027 or any other person, if he so chooses. That is his personal prerogative,” Makinde stated firmly. “But I want to be clear: I will not.”
