PDP Southwest Identifies with Governor Seyi Makinde, Pledges Unwavering Support to Turaki-Led NWC

The Southwest Zonal Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) reaffirms its total solidarity with Nigerians in the face of worsening economic hardship, insecurity, and growing uncertainty across the country. We remain resolute in our commitment to offering a credible alternative anchored on people-focused governance, stability, and national progress.

We unequivocally identify with and stand firmly behind His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, whose administration continues to demonstrate stability, focus, and an unwavering commitment to delivering democratic dividends to the good people of Oyo State. We also commend His Excellency for his dogged and consistent efforts in sustaining and strengthening multi-party democracy in Nigeria.

The rumoured impeachment plot against the Governor is baseless, contrived, and should be disregarded by all well-meaning Nigerians. It is nothing more than a calculated attempt to create unnecessary political tension.

The PDP Southwest strongly condemns the reckless and divisive comments made by former Governor Ayodele Fayose. Such utterances are irresponsible, self-serving, and capable of inciting tension, particularly through the needless politicisation of revered traditional institutions. This conduct is unacceptable and is hereby unequivocally condemned.

We call on Nigerians to remain calm, vigilant, and united, and to reject any attempt by disgruntled political actors to manufacture crisis or destabilise the country for selfish political gain.

Furthermore, the PDP Southwest pledges its unwavering support and loyalty to the Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC), reaffirming our commitment to party unity, discipline, and cohesion at all levels.

We appreciate Nigerians for their resilience and continued belief in the PDP, and we assure them of our dedication to responsible leadership and a better future for all.
