Lagos Waste Crisis: Sanuth Denies Appointment As New LAWMA MD
Dr. Hassan Sanuth has denied his reported appointment as the new Managing Director (MD) of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA).
There had been media reports to the effect that the incumbent MD, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, had been asked to resign over persistent waste management challenges across the state.
However, Sanuth who is a Director in the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, in a statement, said his reported appointment to replace Gbadegesin was false and unfounded.
“I have become aware of news circulating that I have been appointed as Managing Director (MD) of LAWMA.
“I wish to state categorically that this information is false and unfounded.
“I have not been appointed into that position and urge everyone to disregard the rumour and refrain from circulating unverified information.
“I appreciate the goodwill and confidence of those who may have shared or reacted to the news, but it is important that facts are established before information is disseminated. Thank you,” Sanuth said.
