Chairman of the House Committee on Navy, Rep. Yusuf Gagdi, has denied calling for a probe into the fuel subsidy removal under President Bola Tinubu.

He emphasized the importance of media integrity and stated that there is a misleading story in some sections of the media quoting him allegedly calling for a probe into Tinubu over the subsidy removal. Gagdi urged the media to be thorough in reportage and maintain integrity. He described the sensational headline as aimed at attracting clicks and gaining traction, stating that the story was irresponsible and reckless.

Gagdi expressed great regard for Tinubu and urged all to ignore the mischievous and blackmailing headlines while urging media houses to be more circumspect in their reporting.
