People win election from prison, my vote does not matter – Dino Melaye
Senator Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer in the Kogi governorship election, claimed there was no actual election in the state. He contended that it was just an allocation of votes and questioned the legitimacy of the process.
Despite finishing third in the election, Melaye emphasized that the legality of his voting or not voting was immaterial, asserting that people can win elections even from prison.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the governorship poll in Kogi.
