PDP Senate Candidate Speaks About Allegation Against His Personality
Re: Election Fund Etc
Good day, wonderful PDP members in Lagos state. I want to use this opportunity to respond to various allegations concerning funds released for my election. For clarification, there was never a time i told anyone that the Governorship candidate( Jandor) in 2023 election collected funds meant for my election. I received 25000 dollars ($25000) that gave us 18 Millions naira (by the exchange rate at that time) by 4:00pm on Friday, a day before the election, which I received by prayers and the help of my LGA chairmen (Ibeju Lekki) from Engr Deji Doherty after he refused to pickup my calls for two days.
On that note, the only money that looks strange to me was the security money, which was not given to me. One thing I am sure of is that if the security funds for Lagos East Senatorial District were given to anyone, by the power of Almighty God, that person or those people would be disgraced and politically useless.
For some people who see me as one of Jandor boys, I think it is important to pause and ruminate how possible that can be to think of it, where was Jandor in 2004 to 2007? when I was an aspirant contesting for the post of Council Chairman of Ibeju Lekki local government, that was the time the two seats of the House of Assembly election were won for PDP in Ibeju Lekki this was achieved through my contribution and zeal at the time. Moreover, when he (Jandor) was in APC, he only worked with Governor Fashola on the professional level, not as a politician. I was a supervisor twice (health and works & housing), and I was also the coordinator of Governor Ambode in Ibeju Lekki for five years as a politician. How then can he be my leader or Boss? Of course, we respect each other, but not as boss and subordinate. We only worked together because we share the same ideologies about who became the Governor of Lagos state in 2023.
For clarification, when we were together, I was spending my money in Epe Division.
When the movement started, we were called IBILE EKO, which was later changed to lagos4lagos. Then, while other local governments collected millions for any program, we at Ibeju Lekki were not collecting any money. Therefore, I spent my money.
For how I got the party ticket and the culminating campaigns thereafter, all was done by myself with the help of God, my families, and some of my church members. On the day of the primary election, he (Jandor) gave me N1.5 million naira, and he also took care of the election committee members who came from Abuja because he was the one that lodged them.
Once again, I am using this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed in one way or the other from the beginning to the end of the project, Dr. ogunkelu, our mother, Mrs Aduke Minna, Mama Onikepo, Hon Ramon Owokoniran, Alhaji Nurudeen Are, just to mention but a few, including all other leaders in our district with all the LGA and ward officers expecially the five LGA chairmen. My first appreciation goes to Koshofe chairman, Shomolu chairman, then Ikorodu chairman, Ibeju Lekki chairman and Epe chairman also my DG, all the Directors, our coordinators from the District, LGA and wards level and all Newdawn babes not excluding all the delegates that did not worked for money but integrity and experience, may the Almighty God reward all our efforts politically by His mighty powers. Amen.
My advice to some of us expecially my brother and sister in Yomoco and other platforms that was bitter with one leader or the other or any candidate, I want to appeal to you to forget the past and let’s move forward. As regards those leader that are in APC and are still claiming PDP, God Almighty will expose them. Let’s forget all the abuse, curse, and insults who knows maybe your Aspirant will emerged as the candidate in the next election or your leader will give us Aspirant that will emerged as the candidate, we should remember that no one can do it alone. We need to work together as one, use all our vocabularies, knowledge, and experiences against the ruling party APC, and also focus on our local government to prepare for the next elections.
I also apologised to anyone that I offended before, during, and after the election, I say, I am very sorry for any inconveniences or any issues at all that were regarded as offensive.
Thank you, and remain blessed.
Sen Akobada Nicholas Adekunle
Lagos East Senatorial District candidate.
