BREAKING: Court Bars Uzodinma From Claiming APC Imo West Ticket

A Federal High Court in Abuja has reportedly restrained Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma from parading himself as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Imo West Senatorial District election scheduled for January 16, 2027.

Justice Obiora Egwuatu issued the order after ruling that Uzodinma did not win the party’s senatorial primary conducted on May 18, which was monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The court reportedly held that evidence presented before it showed that former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha secured the majority of votes cast in the primary. It consequently directed the APC to submit Okorocha’s name as its candidate and ordered INEC to publish his name for the 2027 senatorial election.
