The Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Council, Hon. Muhammed Danasabe Muhammed, has passed away.

He was confirmed dead around 4:30 am on Friday at a hospital in Lokoja, Kogi State. The cause of his death was reported as a collapse at his residence, and he was rushed to the hospital where he later passed away.

His death comes just hours before the governorship elections scheduled for Saturday. Muhammed was active in political meetings in preparation for the elections.

The deceased, who is survived by his mother, wife and children, was from ward B in cantonment area of Lokoja.
