The Delta Governorship Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in Asaba, the state capital, has declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Sheriff Oborevwori in the March 18, 2023 governorship elections as the truly elected governor of the state.

The three-man panel led by Justice C.H Ahuchaogu, on Friday while delivering judgement, declared that the PDP governorship candidate, Oborevwori was duly elected as governor and therefore stands elected and dismissed the petition of the All Progressives Congress,(APC), candidate and former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege for lack of merit.

The judgement which sparked up wide jubilation outside the court premises, saw politicians and members of the PDP, commissioners, and other aides of governor Oborevwori dancing and singing victory songs.
