You Cannot Be In This Party And Be Woking For APC – Hon Rahmon Owokoniran

The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) South-West zonal secretary, Hon. Rahman Owokoniran, has voiced concerns regarding Wike’s behavior as well as the PDP’s internal issues.

*He linked Wike’s audacity to the party’s unwillingness to confront him, drawing a comparison between this and a circumstance in which an individual withholds admission of guilt until confronted directly.*

Owokoniran compared Wike to Donald Trump, saying that unless the party takes firm action, Wike will continue to exercise his influence in a manner similar to Trump’s uncompromising methods.

*He emphasized that the PDP must use its structures to prevent such overreach and issued a warning that no one should ever become more powerful than the party.*

While speaking with The Sun, he asserted, *”The issue is not Wike saying or doing anything; it is the fact that the party has not handled it properly.”*

He emphasized the need for the National Working Committee (NWC) to address the problem, adding, *”If the party does not take swift action, it will encourage indiscipline. How can we allow one person to disrupt the entire system?”*

*Owokoniran further questioned Wike’s involvement with the APC-led government, pointing out the lack of a clear stance from the PDP. “If the NWC supports Wike remaining in the APC-led government, then it becomes a party position. But if they reject it, they must say so clearly,”* he said.
He argued that without a formal decision, *Wike’s actions could be seen as unchecked behavior.*

“Wike can say anything he wants. If you have not held a thief by the wrist, he will not agree that he is a thief.”
“If he believes that he has a hold on the party, he will test his strength. Can you stop Trump from gyrating? No. I don’t want anybody to bother us because they are gyrating,” he added.
Owokoniran also noted, *”No individual should be bigger than the party. When you refuse to deploy all those things, then there is a problem*
. Even the NWC will be cornered. These are the issues; let’s trash it. *You cannot be in this party and be working for the APC.”*
He questioned the lack of rules governing the situation, adding, “In a town that doesn’t have laws, there can’t be offenders. That is what Wike is enjoying now—indiscipline.”
